Work-Life Balance: How to Find It

This motivational presentation will focus on strategies and analogies on how to keep things in perspective and reduce our stress in the attempt to have peace and contentment, maximize happiness and attain ultimate life satisfaction. Understanding simple yet effective solutions on how to find work/life balance while minimizing our stress should improve our productivity as well as our relationships with others. Once we learn how to genuinely appreciate what we have, stop comparing our self to others and honor ourselves like we deserve, we will be on our way to reaching all of our personal and professional goals. This inspirational talk will show you how!

About Dietra Hickey, Ph.D.

Dr. Deitra Hickey, owner of Serenity Health & Wellness Center, Licensed Counselor, wellness author, and show host of Biz TV, was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Developing her strong will and resilience began at a young age due to the great deal of adversity in her childhood. Hickey took care of two paralyzed parents for most of her adolescence after witnessing both of her parents being shot. She then cared for her mother who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and passed away at only 48 when Hickey was 21.
Since then, she has dedicated her life to helping others with their stress maintenance, resilience and balance, and journey towards happiness and contentment through a keen awareness of perspective.

Dr. Hickey worked for Toledo Public Schools for 17 years as a teacher, a school counselor and a school principal and then taught at the University of Toledo prior to opening her first Serenity Health & Wellness Center seven years ago. Hickey enjoys speaking to groups of all sizes and is passionate about raising awareness for overall health and wellness. She encourages others to honor themselves physically, mentally and emotionally.

Panel Discussion

Do you find yourself “always on?” Are you checking your emails before you fall asleep and/or first thing when you wake up? Is it hard for you to sign off/log out/unplug? In today’s technology-driven world, it’s difficult to separate your work life from your personal life. However, rising stress levels caused by the never-ending workday can hurt relationships, health and overall happiness. Hear from others in the performance plastics industry about how they balance their careers and personal lives for a healthier, happier, more productive life!
