Evolution of the Art of Casting Nylons

What 30 years ago was a fledgling, mundane product line, containing three or four formulations, is today a well-rounded product line with some 15 to 16 formulations available. And the product range continues to grow. More.

Registration Opens for the 2011 Plastics Expo
Registration for IAPD’s 2011 Plastics Expo, Thursday, Sept. 15, is open. The expo is the only place where you can meet with the people who make, distribute, specify and purchase semi-finished plastic stock shapes, fabricated parts, as well as pipe, valves and fittings. This is the only event that can boast such expertise in one place.

While you're there, attend an education session, explore materials applications and have some lunch on us.

Registration for the 2011 Plastics Expo is now open. Visit the Plastics Expo home for all the details including show hours, a list of exhibitors and how you can register for free.

Technical Advisory

The automotive industry is the largest user of nylon resins.

Type 12 nylon is available as a cast material. Cast nylon type 12 has lower moisture absorption than type 6, giving it an advantage in dimensional stability.
Nylon powder, applied electrostatically or by fluid bed, provide tough, wear-resistant coatings. Most coating materials are formulations of nylon 11 because of the excellent dimensional stability.
