IAPD members, plastics professionals and students are invited to attend a half-day educational workshop in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, July 29 from 8:00 a.m. EDT - 12:00 p.m. EDT.

The workshop, hosted by Women in Plastics, will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Galleria. Attendees needing a hotel room Thursday, July 28 are encouraged to book their reservation early (call (770) 980-1900 to reserve) and will receive a special room rate of $149. Dr. Keith Hechtel, DBA, will present Women in Plastics - Career Challenges and Opportunities. Women who work in the performance plastics industry face a number of career challenges that are in some ways different from those of their male counterparts.

This presentation will describe scholarly research on the careers of women and what truly defines a "successful" career. It will include suggestions about how women can accelerate their career growth and what managers who supervise female employees can do to promote the career success of women in their organizations.

The presentation will include an exercise that allows participants to assess the degree to which their professional networks are aligned with their career goals.

Registration fees are as follows:
