2012 IAPD Scholarship Recipients

Kayleigh Bilbrey
Kayleigh was the co-valedictorian of her senior class at Muncie Southside High School in Muncie, IN, USA. While there she was involved in basketball, track, bowling, the National Honors Society and band. Kayleigh is now entering her sophomore year at Ball State University where she is majoring in criminal justice and psychology. She plans to pursue a career as a criminal psychologist.

Kayleigh is the daughter of Dwayne Rodgers, a production supervisor at Spartech Corporation in Muncie, IN, USA.

Joseph Bradford
Joseph is a freshman at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, USA. He is interested in studying computer science or engineering. While at Hanover High School in Mechanicsville, VA, USA, Joseph received numerous academic achievement awards, was involved in emerging leaders programs, worked part-time and volunteered.

Joseph is the son of William Bradford, a salesperson at Piedmont Plastics in Richmond, VA, USA. (A portion of Joseph's scholarship is from the Greg Berry Memorial Fund.)

Ewa Huang
Ewa is entering her junior year at Miami University in Oxford, OH, USA, where she is majoring in marketing. Ewa is interested in pursuing a career in marketing, international business or public relations. Her academic achievements include being in the university's honor program and on the Dean's List for two semesters. Ewa is also co-chair of the Relay for Life Food Committee and involved in the Asian American Association and the Chinese American Business Association.

Ewa is the daughter of Ada Huang, a clerical worker at Cast Nylons Limited in Willoughby, OH, USA.

Manasvi Koul
Manasvi is entering her sophomore year at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, USA, where she is majoring in life sciences and management. Manasvi is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare management or finance. While in high school Manasvi founded LIVEbeyond Foundation, Inc., an international non-profit organization dedicated to educating, motivating and recruiting bone marrow donors in under-represented communities.

Manasvi is the daughter of Anjali Koul, an SAP computer systems analyst at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry in Monroe, NC, USA.

Scott Leary
Scott is a sophomore at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, USA. He is studying pre-medicine and Spanish. In high school, Scott was captain of the varsity tennis team, senior captain of the Academic Games team and vice president of the Envirothon team. Scott also volunteered as an emergency room translator. He was recognized as a National Merit finalist, an AP scholar, a recipient of the Congressional Award silver medal and a nominee for the Pathfinder Award in foreign language. He aspires to be a bilingual physician.

Scott is the son of Sharon Leary, director of market research at Business Answers International in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, USA.

Victoria Luce
Victoria is a freshman at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, USA. She plans to major in psychology and possibly minor in Spanish. Victoria is interested in helping others, thus she is pursuing a career as a child psychologist. Her high school achievements include the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, youth government, soccer and numerous community service projects.

Victoria is the daughter of Aaron Luce, a senior technical salesperson at Ryan Herco Flow Solutions in Burbank, CA, USA.

Alison Meyer
Alison is a junior at University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, USA, where she majors in speech pathology and Spanish. Alison plans to pursue a career as a speech pathologist. While in high school she was in the National Honor Society and participated in band, school musicals, basketball and the student senate.

Alison is the daughter of Larry Meyer, an account manager for Cope Plastics, Inc., in Rock Island, IL, USA. (A portion of Stephanie's scholarship is from the Dwight Cope Memorial Fund.)

Daniela Mangano
Daniela is a freshman at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, USA, where she plans to major in business administration. While in high school Daniela was in the National Honor Society and participated in the Italian club, marching band, color guard, symphonic band and math team. She held a vice president position in her Girl Scouts organization and earned the Silver Award.

Daniela is the daughter of Michael Mangano, a supply chain analyst at Spartech Corporation in Stamford, CT, USA.

Tyler Ross
Tyler is a freshman at Milikin University in Decatur, IL, USA. He is interesting in pursuing a degree in mathematics. While at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, IL, USA, Tyler was in the National Honors Society, co-captain of the school's golf team, earned all-state recognition in Mathletes in 2011 and participated in the Ecology Club. He was recognized for his musical talents as the section leader in choirs and bands.

Tyler is the son of Philip Ross, an inside sales/purchasing agent at Laird Plastics in Bensenville, IL, USA. (A portion of Tyler's scholarship is from the Mark Huston Fund.)

Melinda Sigmon
Melinda is a freshman at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, USA. She plans to major in math and business administration. While at Bunker Hill High School in Claremont, NC, USA, Melinda excelled in college-level math classes, was in the National Beta Club for three years and participated in the chorus and earned a letter in concert choir.

Melinda is the daughter of William Sigmon, a clipper operator at 3A Composites in Statesville, NC, USA.

William Walker
William is a freshman at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, USA. He plans to major in polymer science. While at Magee High School in Magee, MS, USA, William was awarded commendation for having the top score in the state in an annual polymer science competition. He was the valedictorian of his graduating class and received numerous academic achievement awards. In addition, he was the section leader in band, president of Mu Alpha Theta and participated in the Beta, Media and Science Clubs. Scholarships are available to students majoring in polymer science.

Bridget Wilkerson
Bridget is a freshman at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, USA. She plans to major in secondary science education and become a high school science teacher. While at Graves County High School in Mayfield, KY, USA, she maintained an above-average grade point average while working on the school newspaper, playing on the fast-pitch softball team and mentoring freshman.

Bridget is the daughter of Brian Wilkerson, a maintenance technician at 3A Composites in Benton, KY, USA.
