IAPD’s advocacy efforts on the Hill in Washington D.C. are crucial to the performance plastics industry separating ourselves from harmful materials to the environment. Listen in to a Government Relations Lesson with Vice Chair of the GR Committee Leah Konrady to learn about these efforts and how you can get involved with the future of IAPD.
In 2020, Leah became the CEO of Konrady Plastics, Inc. based in Portage, IN, USA. Konrady Plastics was started 1981, and today they machine plastic on CNC machines and distribute plastic sheet, rod, and tube. Leah currently serves as IAPD’s Government Relations Committee Vice Chair.
Prior to Konrady Plastics, Leah served as the CEO of One Region, an economic development nonprofit in Northwest Indiana. At One Region, she launched a research initiative of learning from other places with a turnaround story in attracting young professionals places (New Jersey, Pittsburgh, and Denver.)
Prior to One Region, Leah worked in public policy with a passion for water policy. She worked for CH2M, an engineering company, in Fresno, California, focusing on government affairs and community outreach for drinking water infrastructure. She assisted the City of Fresno in applying for over $400 million in State Revolving Fund loans.
In Washington, D.C. Leah served as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Pete Visclosky and worked at the Northeast Midwest Institute as Director of the Great Lakes Washington Program. Her role was to lead and build a bi-partisan, bi-cameral policy agenda for the Congressional Great Lakes Task Force.
