FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Registration Open for the 59th Annual IAPD Convention and Plastics Showcase

Performance plastics experts to converge in San Diego, CA, USA, September 21-24, 2015.

Overland Park, KS — The International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD), an international trade association comprised of member companies engaged in the distribution and manufacture of performance plastics, has launched registration for its 59th Annual Convention & Plastics Showcase.

The 59th Annual IAPD Convention will be held in San Diego, CA, USA, from September 21-24 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt and will feature the IAPD Plastics Showcase on Thursday, September 24. By popular demand, there will be more opportunity for making business connections and networking than ever, plus top-notch speakers, a midweek charitable golf tournament and an opportunity for a docent-led tour of the USS Midway, a venerable part of the country’s military history. In addition, the IAPD Plastics Application Design Competition will return for its third year of celebrating performance plastics via innovative applications from corporate and collegiate teams.

During the opening general session on Wednesday, September 23, full convention delegates will first hear from internationally renowned expert on workforce trends and generational dynamics Seth Mattison about how to lead organizations into the “next generation enterprise” that will attract the emerging workforce. Following Mattison will be Chip Eichelberger, speaking about the power of attitude and activity and how to generate loyal and high-achieving employees.

On Thursday, September 24, IAPD will hold the third annual IAPD Plastics Application Design Competition. Companies and students/faculty are encouraged to submit innovative plastics applications with finalists from each division giving a 10-minute presentation for a chance to win a prize package that includes IAPD offerings and/or cash and association recognition where winners’ stories will be retold in IAPD publications and marketing campaigns.

Time for networking, reconnecting with friends and making new business connections will play an important role in the 59th Annual IAPD Convention & Plastics Expo. New IAPD members and first-time attendees are invited to a special reception on Tuesday, September 22. A Welcome Reception for all full convention delegates will follow later that evening. A social hour sponsored by the Manufacturers’ Representative Common Interest Group will be held on Wednesday evening, a fun run/walk will be held on Thursday morning and a beachside party will close the convention on Thursday evening at Cannonball at Mission Beach.

“IAPD is looking forward to hosting the 59th Annual Convention & Plastics on the West Coast this year,” said IAPD CEO Susan Avery, CAE. “We are especially looking forward to meeting IAPD members and prospective members in the western and southwestern part of the United States who may not have had the opportunity to experience the IAPD Convention in the past due to its being held in the Midwest or East Coast. In addition to identifying the right location for the event, each year our goal is to build on the success of the previous year’s convention, making it better through value-added content and networking opportunities. From the strong full convention numbers we are seeing immediately after launching registration, we are expecting excellent attendance and are on track for another successful year.”

Delegates who are unable to attend the week-long annual convention are encouraged to register for the Plastics Showcase on Thursday only. With full display booths on a showroom floor and expo space for members and non-member companies, the Plastics Showcase is intended to celebrate the plastics industry. Thursday only delegates will enjoy a full schedule comprised of valuable educational sessions in the morning, the IAPD Plastics Application Design Competition and luncheon, opportunities to meet with exhibitors and networking time during the day, as well as the beachside closing party.
