IAPD Releases 12th Edition of Introduction to Plastics Training Manual

Overland Park, KS — The International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD), the international trade association comprised of companies engaged in the distribution and manufacture of plastic stock shapes and pipe, valves and fittings, has released a new edition of Introduction to Plastics, the association's popular training manual for performance plastics personnel, students/faculty and end users of performance plastics.

Introduction to Plastics, 12th Edition features several enhancements, including:

  • Colorful redesign
  • Updated IAPD Thermoplastics Rectangle
  • Color-coded materials chapter and property tables for quick reference
  • Top 26 market one-page information sheets with a listing of IAPD members who serve each market
  • Restructured table of contents to help readers better understand and learn the information presented
  • Pop quiz questions to help reinforce content

For more than 30 years, IAPD has offered Introduction to Plastics as a training manual for industry newcomers and seasoned veterans. Produced by industry experts and long-time IAPD members, the IAPD Education Committee, this must-have technical resource is an effective training tool and guide to performance plastics information. The new design of the 12th edition makes navigation easier with updated content, a new color coded layout based on the IAPD Thermoplastics Rectangle and a listing of top 26 markets for performance plastics and the IAPD members who serve those markets.

"IAPD members, plastics professionals and end users of performance plastics have used Introduction to Plastics as a go-to resource for plastics materials, techniques and applications for many years," said IAPD Education Committee Chair Mark Steele. "With the new 12th edition, not only will readers have access to updated plastics information to help them in their every-day jobs, the manual has been redesigned for visual appeal with bright colors and images as well as as a strategic purpose. The materials chapter and material property tables are color-coded to the IAPD Thermoplastics Rectangle as a quick and easy way to reference the various amorphous and semi-crystalline materials to their properties and characteristics."

With an enhanced design and updated content, readers can purchase Introduction to Plastics, 12th Edition at the same price as the previous edition - US$49 for IAPD members and US$65 for nonmembers. Click here to order your copy today.
