Webinar: How GSP Can Impact Your Bottom Line
Previously Recorded Webinar:
How the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Program Can Impact Your Bottom Line
Concerned about tariffs on China hitting your bottom line? Looking for other sources for materials? The Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program eliminated nearly US$160 million in U.S. tariffs on imported chemicals and plastics in 2017, primarily from developing countries such as Brazil, India, Indonesia and Thailand. That figure will grow to about US$180 million in 2018 and possibly much larger in the future, particularly if companies shift sourcing to avoid tariffs on imports from China. Yet sourcing under the GSP program does carry some risk. This webinar will focus on:
• About the GSP program: history, benefits, risks
• Trump administration views on GSP and potential impacts on companies
• Congressional views on GSP and prospects for future authorizations
Presenter Bio:
Dan Anthony is Executive Director of the Coalition for GSP, a group of U.S. companies and associations that benefit from the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) trade program. In this capacity, he leads U.S. business community efforts in support of congressional reauthorization of the GSP program as necessary. The Coalition for GSP, and its Renew GSP Today website, is the primary source for research on the GSP program’s benefits for American companies and workers.
