Certificate Program: LEVEL I

Level I is the first step in IAPD's Certificate Program and the best way to secure a solid foundation of plastics knowledge. This module leads test takers through the basics of plastics including their physical properties, processes and common plastics materials. It addresses fillers and enhancements, as well as tips for selling products. Not only does Level I serve as an educational tool meant to inspire continued learning, but it also acts as a resource that will benefit everyone in the plastics industry, regardless of experience.

What you need to know:

  • Member price: $89
  • Nonmember price: $159
  • Special price (IAPD member with 3 or more applicants) - $79 each.
  • Special price (IAPD member with 20 or more applicants) - $65 each
  • Each candidate must agree to the terms of the Candidate Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Expect a two-day delay in receiving your password after applying.
  • You have 30 days to complete Level 1.
  • You must achieve a score of 80 percent or higher to pass.
  • Exam is open-book, open-notes, and test takers can utilize co-workers, magazine resources, etc.
  • Reduced fee for a retake: $29. (You must wait 30 days from expiration date to sign up again.)

Certificate Program: LEVEL II

Level II is a more advanced program that puts all of the information gained in Level I to practical use with applications from a variety of markets, while also taking your plastics education to the next level. It is a rigorous examination of the student's technical knowledge, research skills and business acumen. It takes the knowledge gained from Level I and applies to practical application by evaluating the test taker's ability to help customers with real solutions. Just like the real business world, Level II participants won't know the answers to all the questions, but they need to demonstrate that they can find the answers. Make it through this level and become an indispensable resource to your customers, and an asset to your company.

 

Things you need to know:

  • Member price: $89
  • Nonmember price: $159
  • Special group price (IAPD member with 3 or more applicants) - $79 each
  • Special group price (IAPD member with 20 or more applicants) - $65 each
  • Must agree to the terms of the Candidate Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Expect up to a 2-day delay in receiving your password after applying.
  • You have 60 days to complete Level II. It requires significantly more effort – plan accordingly.
  • Level II candidates must have successfully passed Level I.
  • You must achieve a passing score of 85 percent or above.
    If you score 70 percent or below, you must retake the full exam at the $89 or $159 member/nonmember price. If you score between 71 and 84 percent, you may retake only the portion of the exam that you missed at the $29 retake price.
  • Exam is open-book, open-notes, and test takers can utilize co-workers, magazine resources, etc.
  • You can only hit “Final Submit” one time.
  • Reduced fee for a retake: $29. (You must wait 30 days from expiration date to sign up again.)

Candidate Confidentiality Agreement

All Level I and Level II candidates must agree to the following Candidate Confidentiality Agreement.

By applying for the test, you indicate you understand, acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. That the questions and answers on the exam are the exclusive and confidential property of IAPD.
  2. That you may not disclose the exam questions or answers or discuss any of the content of the exam materials with any person, without prior written approval of IAPD.
  3. Not to copy or attempt to make copies (written, photocopied, or otherwise) of any exam material, including, without limitation, any exam questions or answers.
  4. Not to sell, license, distribute, give away, or obtain from any other source other than IAPD
    the exam materials, questions or answers.
  5. Your obligations under this agreement shall continue to be in effect after the examination and, if applicable, after termination of your certificate, regardless of the reason or reasons for termination, and whether such termination is voluntary or involuntary.
