What is the difference between the traditional trade show and connecX?

connecX combines the traditional elements of a trade show with walk-by traffic, with the demand for more one-on-one private meetings to discuss business. Upon registration, you can request and book these meetings for face time with the people you came here to see. 

IAPD gives you connecX, the solution to streamline the way suppliers and customers connect at the IAPD Annual Convention. IAPD’s connecX takes what you already enjoy about private meetings and a traditional trade show and builds on it, so there are even more opportunities to meet with new and existing connections. IAPD is offering appointment-matching services during the connecX, freeing up your time to do what you do best — sell performance plastics. Do you have a customer you’ve been trying to see but can’t seem to get time with them in a private meeting room? Set a time to meet during connecX!
 

Appointment Setting 

  • Appointment setting service for you, the exhibitors! In addition to getting walk through floor traffic, you will now be able to set appointments with customers who you may not be able to meet with in private meeting rooms.
  • You can secure a booth and get into the system for appointments.
  • The appointment setting will work like this:
    • As convention attendees register, they indicate who they want to meet with and/or manufacturers select from registered convention delegates and send an invitation to meet.
    • Exhibitors decide whether to meet with them.
    • Exhibitors will set their meeting slots, for example 10 minutes on the show floor.
    • Participating exhibitors will see the list of attendees and can send them meeting requests.
    • Both parties have to agree to the meeting.

Private Meeting Rooms

connecX is an opportune time for substantive meetings with your business partners. To better facilitate your success we have added time slots to the schedule of events for these important meetings.

Meeting Rooms are Available for a Full Day Rental and Include:
  • Your company name listed on the official IAPD schedule.
  • Sign with your company logo outside the meeting room door.
  • Lessen your administrative burden with discount packages for food and beverage and audio/visual equipment (for an additional fee) from the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. IAPD will handle the logistics for you!
